  • Treble crochet (tr)

Step-by-Step Pattern

Foundation: Chain a multiple of 6 + 2 (e.g., 20 chains). [1]

Row 1:
  1. Make a single crochet in the 2nd chain from your hook.
  2. Make a Wedge Pico: Chain 6. Working back down the chain, make 1 sc in the 2nd ch from the hook, 1 hdc in the next, 1 dc in the next, 1 tr in the next, and 1 dtr in the last chain. This forms a triangle/wedge shape.
  3. Skip 5 chains, then work 1 sc in the next chain.
  4. Repeat steps 2 and 3 across the entire row, ending with a single crochet. [1, 2, 4]
Row 2 (Mirroring Row):
  1. Chain 5 (counts as a double treble crochet) and turn.
  2. Work a single crochet into the top of the first wedge pico from the previous row.
  3. Work backwards along the bottom chain of that same wedge by doing a single crochet, half double crochet, double crochet, treble crochet, and double treble crochet to mirror the triangle on the other side.
  4. Skip the next single crochet, then sc in the top of the next wedge pico. Repeat across the row. [1, 4]
Row 3:
  1. Chain 1, turn, and work a single crochet into the first stitch.
  2. Work a wedge pico (Chain 6, then 1 sc, 1 hdc, 1 dc, 1 tr, 1 dtr back down the chain).
  3. Skip 5 stitches, and make a single crochet. Repeat across the row. [1, 4, 5]
Repeat: Alternate rows 2 and 3 until your project reaches your desired length. [4]
